On the Issues

Fighting Foreclosure and Keeping our Neighborhoods Clean

The foreclosure crisis has forced too many families from their homes and left too many homes in disrepair. Jeff has proposed a number of initiatives to help families avoid foreclosure, and to turn around those properties already lost to the banks:

Ambulances: Reform for a Safer Cincinnati

Every day in Cincinnati someone calls 911 with an emergency only to hear that "no ambulance is available." For years now, demand for ambulance transport has increased, while the Fire Department has been working with the same number of aging ambulances.

In the 2009-2010 Budget, Jeff fought to add two new ambulances to the Fire Department's fleet, and those two ambulances went into service in the first week of 2009.

Jobs & Economic Development

Jeff Berding is a friend to area employers and employees, and will work to bring jobs and businesses to Cincinnati. With more businesses in the City and more people employed, the City can offer even more services to its citizens.

Preventing Police and Fire Layoffs

There is no more basic service for a government to offer its citizens than keeping the community safe. Our firefighters and police officers risk their lives everyday to protect us, and Jeff has worked with his colleagues on Council so every public safety officer in Cincinnati stays on the street.

Promoting Bicycling

Jeff has always fought for bike and walking trails to link our neighborhoods and attract new people to Cincinnati. He’ll continue working to make Cincinnati a city that’s safe and friendly for citizens of all ages to enjoy bicycling.
